JAZ’S JOURNAL - OCTOBER 2026

We’re back for the second installment of Jaz’s Journal! Where I answer 3 randomly drawn journal prompts and then gush about a few things that are occupying my brainspace lately! I’ll get right into it.

1. What am I building towards that I haven’t said out loud yet?

Well! How do I answer this without giving any secrets away? I’m sorry, but I’m gonna have to keep it vague.

One offering that is intrinsically connected to an aspect of my life I haven’t really spoken much on.

One thing that’s absolutely got me seeing stars (😉).

One offering that’ll make it easier than ever to receive a Soul Overtones sound healing.

One crazy, perhaps distant dream that echos through my dreams and excites me more than anything.

2. What’s a belief about myself or my business that got challenged this month?

I’m always wrestling with my self belief. Annoying, I know. Far too often, I question my ability to do what I do, I question my character, I question bloody everything. Inquisitive to a fault. So this month, I’ve been really pleasantly surprised by my ability to trust in myself a bit more, trust in the universe a bit more.

Being less in the “doom & gloom” vibration and more in the “yaaaay look how beautiful everything is” vibration, I’m noticing all the little things. The little signs that I am deeply connected, I am the right person to be doing this work, I am deserving of the life I live.

I feel like this is a pretty wishy washy answer to a very tangible question, but yeah. My negative beliefs got challenged! Yay!

3. What do I want to remember about this exact point in the journey?

The freedom to hustle!

I had a conversation the other day about “making hay while the sun is shining”. And I mean, my sun will ALWAYS be shining in some way or another, but right now, my life is so so open to abundance and opportunity. I have a wonderful home, I have some great people in my corner, I’ve got the gear, I’ve got all the ideas, and I have TIME AND FREEDOM!

I’m at a stage in life where in the next ten years, I may have to pivot into a life where this work ISN’T the centre of my universe. It isn’t just my source of income, it’s something that I’m deeply passionate about, something I want to do forever. But I may not always have the privilege of full devotion. There may come a time where I’ll have to find small windows of time to commit to and to savour it. All roads will always lead back to what I feel is my true calling, but there are many paths to take in the meantime!

So in this present moment, at this point in the journey, I’m grateful that I get to say yes to whatever I want. That I get to meet so many beautiful people every single week. That I get to lug my gear all around the country to do sound baths. That I get to fill my calendar to the absolute brim. I may have moments where I feel tired, drained, stressed, but that is just so so so overridden by the joy of being so fully immersed in my passion. I know that I’m so blessed to love my work (my work that doesn’t even feel like work, because I love it that much).

5 THINGS THAT HAVE A HOLD OF ME RIGHT NOW:

1. The Gem by Julia Jacklin

One of my all time fav singer songwriters has released a new album!!! My fav tracks has to be the first one on the record, Brand New. I gotta be honest, I don’t love the album as much as I’ve loved previous works, but I’ll always stop and listen when this gal releases a new batch of tunes. She’s just so bloody coooool. If you want a bit more of a Julia overview, listen to Leadlight, Turn Me Down, Convention, and Be Careful With Yourself. Oh and her cover of Someday by the Strokes. She’s got the voice of a very sad angel and I love it.

2. Strange But True Crime Podcast

If you know me, you know that morbid tales are one of my greatest guilty pleasures. I stumbled upon this one ahead of a roadie to Tauranga, the drive absolutely flew by with these captivating short episodes about baffling crime cases. And the nice thing - they don’t all have bad endings! A few of the episodes actually instilled a little bit of faith in humankind for me! Find it wherever you listen to podcasts.

3. The Dropout

Did anybody else see that trailer of the new A24 documentary “You Can See Everything”? Where Nathan Fielder is interviewing a woman with a crazed look in her eye, trying to convince him she is being 100% genuine and truthful? I knew very little of the Theranos story, so when I saw the biographical drama about it pop up on ThreeNow, starring Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia queeeeen!), I naturally had to familiarize myself with the case ahead of the docu coming out. Absolutely fantastic! William H. Macy is in it, Stephen Fry is in it, the dad from That 70’s Show is in it. Really bizarre story. We smashed it all out in like three or four sittings. She is fascinatingly delusional.

4. Little Grimoire App

I looked at my poor, neglected deck of tarot cards on the shelf one day and said enough is enough. I need to learn how these darn things work! I did a bit of experimenting and research and eventually came across this app. Think of it like Duolingo but for Tarot (because it kinda IS a language). The first few lessons are free and then to unlock the rest, there is a cost of $19.99. But, I tell you, easiest $20 I’ve spent in a while! I’ve never picked anything up so fast. Within the first few hours of me downloading it, I was describing the meanings of the suits over dinner, as if I’d known them all my life. Last night, I learned about the minor arcana number cards, mum came over this morning and I spouted all 10 meanings as easy as the alphabet. I don’t know how they’ve done it - it’s like the knowledge has just been injected directly into my brain. Find it here: https://littlegrimoire.com/

5. ladybee jewelry

I went to Christchurch for a hen’s do at the start of this month, completely by chance we wandered past a market, and thank goodness, everybody wanted a quick squizz (I LOVE LOVE LOVE markets). And of course, there was a crystal jewelry stand, and of course, mum and I were ALLL over it within seconds. She picked up some gorgeous star earrings, and I picked up my now most prized necklace. Only one day prior, I looked at a crystal necklace in a shop and felt a bit of an “ooh I need a crystal necklace” pang. I assessed that necklace carefully, but eventually decided to leave it. After stumbling upon ladybee, it all became abundantly obvious! Find her beautiful creations on Instagram: @ladybeejewelry_nz
