MY VILLAGE: 5 HEALERS AND MAGIC MAKERS THAT I SWEAR BY

For the first 22 years of my life, my connection to the world of spirituality was all on the receiving end. Being raised by a healer, when something went wrong I would go to the doctor, but also to "mums hippie friends". This holistic approach to healing has been an important cornerstone of my life; chasing Western solutions, but backing them up with Eastern practices (or vice versa).

When I found my calling in healing, the best part was finally being able to give back to the village of incredible people who always gave time and energy so generously to me. I finally had gifts of my own to share, I finally had a chance to impact their healing in the way they had impacted mine. But there’s another way to give back, some good old fashioned testimonials!

So without further ado, here are 5 healers I swear by, in no particular order. I could go on FOREVER with a list of incredible healers who I would recommend. But, these 5 are healers I’ve seen many many times and with whom I’ve had major, life altering shifts at their hands.

1. Carol McMillan (
http://www.soulmedicine.co.nz/)

Carol is based out of West Auckland, and is my first port of call when something comes up and I have zero idea what to make of it. Whether the problem is physical, emotional, mental or spiritual, she has the answer. She has an impressive spread of modalities and diagnostic tools, as well as being highly intuitive, and SO down to earth and authentic. She has helped me with grief, chronic pain, and multiple mental blockages. She is easy to talk to, asks all the right questions, and digs deep to the root of the issue/s you bring to her. There are also times where you come for one particular issue, but she finds another thing so deep and buried that you hadn’t even considered it needed healing. This paragraph is so brief because I truly can’t begin to fully describe all that Carol is; to me, she defines, lives and breathes the word healer.

2. Nina Holman (
https://holistichealingnz.com/)

Another Westie! I found Nina through the recommendation of a friend, when I was suffering long term chronic back pain. I had always responded well to acupuncture as a child, so I thought I'd give it a whirl, thinking I'd be getting a very simple "needles in, needles out" treatment. She blew my expectations out of the water, going deeper than I thought the issue could have ever been. With a quick read of my pulse and a glimpse of my tongue, she knew exactly what needed to be done. And it wasn’t the obvious fix I thought it was! Not only did she relieve the back pain I went to see her for; through a series of regular visits my gut health improved, my skin, hair and nails got healthier, my periods were less painful, I felt the best I had in a long long while. She also combines her intuition and knowledge of herbalism to make great recommendations for supplements and lifestyle changes that will maintain the improvements made on her treatment table.

3. Kyle Haskins (
https://www.healconnectthrive.com/about-me)

I didn’t go looking to book a session with Kyle, mum just booked me in and said “do it”. She’s often right about these things, so I was 100% on board. Kyle uses Emotional Code and Body Code, as well as a few other energy modalities, operating via Zoom calls. He works with Kinesiology (muscle testing) to uncover trapped emotions and energies, pin point where they came from, when they arrived, and what needs to be done release it, then and there. These trapped emotions and energies may not be something we’re consciously aware of, but they have impacts on all levels. The body and the subconscious mind always remember. Kyle does a great job of explaining his work on his website, I recommend having a read, as I can’t do it as much justice! Either way, I’ll recommend Kyle until the cows come home! He has helped me clear out some belief systems that were not serving me. Old wounds from all ages of my life, from emotions I felt in my infancy, to heartbreaks that became the foundations of the walls I built up as a teenager. His way of work is engaging and collaborative, yet unintrusive and easy for the receiver.

4. Amy (https://www.theholisticrehab.co.nz/)

I’m alway on the hunt for a Contact CARE practitioner, the good ones all seem to move out of Auckland. I don’t share this recommendation lightly, as she’s a real “best kept secret”. When I discovered Amy, it was like uncovering a gold mine. Amy doesn’t just do Contact CARE, she combines it with a massive bundle of modalities she in certified in; a variety of neurology related teachings, natural therapies, Reiki and more. Her work is equal parts intuitive and practical. I would recommend Amy even to my most skeptical friend. She keeps it real, she keeps the client in the loop about everything she does, the results are tangible. Unfortunately, as I said before, good Contact Care practitioners have a tendency to move away from Auckland, Amy has done just that, basing herself in Taranaki these days. BUT - she is starting to do occasional trips back to Auckland to offer sessions. Keep an eye on her website to find these Auckland trips. Great for any musculoskeletal traumas, posture issues, internal pains, mobility issues, as well as anything going awry in the heart or the mind. It’s all connected!

5. My mama, Robyn Green (email me if you’d like her contact deets!)

I was truly blessed to be a guinea pig for this incredible woman. If I ever had a particularly hard day, all I had to do was ask, and she would be cradling my head and working her magic. For all intensive purposes, I’ll call her Robyn in this article, not mum. Gotta sell it, gotta be professional! Robyn was trained in Celestial Awakenings, a mode of energy healing. She acts as a clear and perfect channel between the client, the clients higher self, and any etheric or divine beings that come through in the session to be of service to the client and the issue or intentions they came with. Our innate body wisdom and our higher self knows what we need, even if our mental body suggests something different. Celestial Awakening was just the beginning, there are a few more modalities up Robyn’s sleeve. To name a few, she can do Access Bars, spiritual coaching, intuitive energy healing, light language and of course, sound healing. I may be biased, but I think Robyn truly brings a powerful, reverent and empathetic approach to all of the healing work she does. My experience of my mother as a healer will always be different to what others might experience, but regardless of bias, she is honestly a powerhouse. I see it in the work we do together, for others. When I was on the outside looking in, she was just a healer. But now as I work alongside her, I see her evolution. I see her gifts grow and strengthen, and I see her truly owning her power and standing strong, which is the most admirable part of it all. Shout out to you mama!

So anyway, if one of these healers (or two, or three, or four, or ALL) resonate with you, book in! I didn’t regret it, I’m sure you won’t either!

I’m also happy to answer questions, play middle man, or give any further recommendations for specific ailments or modalities, just flick me an email! I may do more of these testimonial posts going ahead, because I just know so many juicy, gifted people! I’m so blessed for that, so I want to share the blessings.

Every question has an answer, it’s often times just a matter of finding the right person to help you answer the question.
